Christmas Toy Drive

Every Christmas is a reminder that some families may not be able to provide what people consider the ideal Christmas. This can be for varying circumstances, such as financial inability or even health and life style. Every Christmas time Classic Jack’s does a toy drive to provide Christmas presents for young children at the Children’s Hospital and for Neighbor Link. This year was once again, another successful toy drive with customers donating their money at the door, and helping to raise over $2500.00 all in the name of children’s toys and their happiness. The general manager, Jaime, happily dressed up as old jolly Saint Nick and personally delivered toys to the kids who spent Christmas Day in the Hospital. What ever was left from the toys were taken to Neighbor Link, an organization that truly takes care of the community by filling in the gaps for underprivileged families. Thank you to all who made this event yet another success!

Feeding Families for the Holiday’s

Teaming up once again with Neighbor Link, Classic Jack’s and 1410 World Bier Haus were able to provided 200 families with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. With Neighbor Link offering their services by seeking out the families who needed assistance during the holidays and Classic Jack’s and 1410 World Bier Haus providing the food families in Calgary had just a little more over the holidays. Each family received a box full of a 6 to 7 kg turkey, stuffing, gravy, vegetables, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and desert.

The most amazing part of this event was that the staff of these two companies not only had the opportunity to put together all the food to be delivered to the families, but they also had the opportunity to deliver it themselves. There is nothing more significant in life then to be able to give someone a gift, and feeling fulfilled by the sheer joy that the receiver displays. This has been one of the most encouraging and inspirational events that the staff has been able to participate in.

Thank you to all the staff that volunteered their time and to Neighbor Link for making this event such a memorable success. As well, thank you to Canada Whole Sellers for supporting us in our mission. This experience has been a gift within itself.

Effie’s Foundation of Hope

The owners of Classic Jack’s and 1410 World Bier Haus have had a personal struggle with cancer and all of its difficulties. They have watched friends, family, and co-workers deal with this merciless disease. Realizing that cancer has no boundaries, no discrepancies, and no limits the owners know that everyone needs to play a role in stopping this disease. When one of the helping founders of Classic Jack’s, Effie Haralabakos, became a worrier battling against a brain tumor that eventually took her life, Peter, George, Ari, and Joanna Haralabakos decided to do something about it. Along with business partner Ernie Tsu, all five founders of the foundation have pledge to create change in the face of cancer.

Classic Jack’s & 1410 Diva’s Through the Decades Calendar

With the help of Classic Jack’s and 1410 World Bier Haus serving staff posing in a calendar to raise money for the fight against breast cancer, and in support for a local Calgary hospice. Last year raising $20,000.00, we are hoping to exceed that this year. With local support from businesses such as the Roadhouse night club that have been selling the Calendar every Saturday night throughout the month of January, and businesses such as Sweet Simplicity Wellness, we are sure to meet our goal.
